The art of Kutaniyaki (Japanese porcelain) has a history that goes back more than 360 years and is characterized by a method of thickly painting with a five-color style known as Gosai, with the colors being red, yellow, green, purple and Prussian blue.
The vivid colors and bold painted designs are attractive and go beyond the scope of "crafts" and are loved as "works of art."
