Kanazawa Station is a starting point for traveling around Hokuriku. It offers good access to Shirakawago, Takayama, the Noto Peninsula and Kaga Onsen if you use the Shinkansen, highway express buses, etc. It can be reached by train from the major cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya) in around 2 - 2.5 hours.
