The Kanda-Jimbocho area, the birthplace of the University of Tokyo, is today very popular with students from Meiji University and other colleges. It has a relaxing atmosphere perfect for wandering around. The area is also known for its many bookstores, including old bookstores. There are also tourist attractions such as Yushima Seido, originally a Confucian temple. While walking, it is recommended to eat curry at one of many affordable curry restaurants or soba (Japanese noodles) at famous soba shops. Close to Tokyo Station, Ueno, Ochanomizu and Akihabara, Kanda-Jimbocho is a convenient location for visiting the surrounding area.
