National Treasure Zuiryu-ji Temple, Takaokayama
This was the family temple of the founder of Takaoka, Toshinaga Maeda, and it was built by the third lord, Toshitsune Maeda. The Sanmon gate, the Buddha Hall, and the Lecture Hall were designated as national treasures in 1997. Moreover, the Somon gate, the Meditation Hall, the Priest's Quarters, the Tea House and the Cloister have been designated as important cultural properties. They are regarded highly as examples of early Edo Period Zen temple architecture.
Takaoka City where Zuiryu-ji Temple is located, is also designated as Japan Heritage, offering visitors a chance to experience and see the variety of traditional culture.

- ・Traditional festivals are held in Takaoka in the spring and autumn.
