West Japan Railway Company
The West Japan Railway Company, also known as JR West, operates railways in Osaka, Kyoto, and the rest of western Japan. The Kansai-Airport Express HARUKA which is covered in Hello Kitty-themed illustrations offers great access to city centers. With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Kanazawa to Tsuruga) on March 16, 2024, it is now possible to take the Thunderbird limited express from Osaka to Fukui, followed by the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Fukui to various parts of the Hokuriku region and Tokyo. This enables quicker access from Osaka to the Hokuriku region, such as Kanazawa and Toyama. Use the JR-WEST RAIL PASS, such as the Kansai-Hokuriku Area Pass, to enjoy unlimited train travel! *Regular HARUKA trains without Hello Kitty-themed illustrations are also in operation.
